Activating your DigiD at the service desk in Morocco

If you live abroad and want to activate your DigiD using an activation code. you can collect it from the embassy in Rabat. Find out opening hours and what you will need.
 

Attention: If you are unable to come to the DigiD service desk find out how you can activate your DigiD another way, for example via a video call.

You do not need to make an appointment to collect your DigiD activation code. You can collect your code on any of the following days:

  • Monday: 08:30 – 11:00
  • Tuesday: 08:30 – 11:00
  • Wednesday: 08:30 – 11:00
  • Thursday: 08:30 – 11:00
  • Friday: 08:30 – 11:00

Attention: Before you visit, apply for a DigiD via DigiD.nl. Read about what you will need to bring to the service desk. Make sure you have everything with you. If you don’t, you won’t be able to activate your DigiD.

At the service desk you will need to show:

  • The collection code that you received by text message (SMS) and email after you applied for your DigiD. The collection code is made up of 9 digits and starts with a ‘B’. It is valid for 30 days. If you don’t have a collection code or if the code has expired, apply for a new DigiD via DigiD.nl
  • Your DigiD username and password. which you set when you applied for a DigiD. If you do not yet have a DigiD username and password, or have forgotten them, apply for a new DigiD via DigiD.nl
  • A valid passport or identity card. Copies are not accepted.
  • Your Dutch citizen service number (BSN), if it is not shown in your passport or on your identity card. Read where you can find your BSN
  • The phone you can be reached on using the number you gave when you applied for your DigiD. During your appointment, you’ll receive a text message (SMS) on this number containing your activation code.

Collect yourself

Collect your activation code yourself. You cannot ask someone else to do it for you. If you want to collect the activation code for your child, bring them to the appointment.

During the appointment you’ll receive a text message (SMS) and an email with an activation code. The activation code is made up of 9 digits and starts with an ‘A’.

You will use the activation code to activate your DigiD. There are two ways to do this: via the DigiD website or the DigiD app. The advantage of using the app is that you can activate your DigiD and the DigiD app at the same time.

Attention: The activation code is valid for 21 days. Be sure to activate your DigiD within this 21-day period. If you don’t, you will have to apply again for a DigiD and collect a new activation code.

Once you have activated your DigiD you can start using it. How you log in will depend on how you activated your DigiD.

If you activated the DigiD via the DigiD website

If you activated your DigiD via the DigiD website, you will log in using your username and password and a code you receive by text message.

Attention: After activating your DigiD via the DigiD website, you can also activate the DigiD app on your phone or tablet. The DigiD app is the easiest way to log in securely. Instead of logging in with your username and password, you use a self-selected PIN. Find out how to activate the DigiD app

If you activated your DigiD via the DigiD app

If you activated your DigiD via the DigiD app, you will log in with the DigiD app using a PIN. Depending on the type of phone you have, you may be able to log in using facial recognition or your fingerprint.

Attention: After you activate your DigiD via the DigiD app, you can add the ID check to the DigiD app. You will need a valid Dutch identity document to do this.
