Activating DigiD from abroad

Once you have collected your DigiD activation code you will need to activate your DigiD via DigiD.nl within 21 days. Otherwise, you will need to submit a new DigiD application.

Attention: If you live abroad, you can only activate your DigiD via DigiD.nl. It is temporarily not possible to activate your DigiD using the app.

Don't have an activation code yet?

If you don't yet have an activation code, collect it using the service desk code you were sent (by SMS and e-mail) when you submitted your DigiD application.

Don't have a service desk code yet? You will be sent a service desk code when you submit your DigiD application.
