You can activate your DigiD by collecting an activation code from a DigiD service desk in the Netherlands. Most service desks require an appointment to do this.

If you receive, or will soon be receiving, a Dutch state pension (AOW) you can apply for a DigiD via the Social Insurance Bank (SVB).

Once the SVB has received your application, a letter containing an activation code will be sent to your address abroad. You do not need to arrange a video call or go to a DigiD service desk.
