The Non-residents Records Database (RNI) is part of the Personal Records Database (BRP). It is a register of people who do not live in the Netherlands, no longer live in the Netherlands or live in the Netherlands for less than 4 months.
It includes, for example, Dutch nationals who live abroad, cross-border commuters and migrant workers who live for short periods in the Netherlands. People who live abroad but receive a Dutch state pension are also included in the RNI.
How does the RNI get my personal data?
If you move to somewhere outside the Netherlands you must deregister with your municipality. Your personal data is then transferred to the RNI. In other cases you may register directly at one of the Netherlands’ 19 RNI municipalities.
