How can I update my address in the Non-residents Records Database?
If you are moving from one place outside the Netherlands to another place outside the Netherlands, report your change of address using the online RNI service portal. You can also update your address at a municipality in the Netherlands with an RNI desk.
Using the RNI service portal
To report your change of address using the RNI service portal you need a DigiD.
Updating your address at an RNI desk
You can report a change of address abroad at any of the 19 municipalities in the Netherlands with an RNI desk. Exactly how to do this varies by desk. Select how you want to report your change of address.
You can also report a change of address in person at any of the 19 municipalities in the Netherlands with an RNI desk. Make an appointment to do so. You must bring a valid passport or EU identity card with you to the RNI desk.
Reporting other changes
If you want to update other data in the RNI, find out how to do that.
Reporting a new residential address abroad
Report your new address abroad to your Dutch municipality. This is important so that authorities can find you. For example, if you still have to pay tax in the Netherlands or if you receive benefits. You may be fined if you do not do this. Or your benefits may be stopped.
Have you already moved or has your address changed? Then you can report your change of address online.
Don't know your new address yet? You can also receive your mail digitally. You will then receive your mail in the Message Box of MijnOverheid. Turn on your message box so you don't miss any mail.
