Why do I need the ID check?
If you add an ID check in the DigiD app, you can log in to any organisation that lets you log in using DigiD. You can also log in to government organisations in other European countries that recognise European forms of electronic identification (eID).
If you don’t yet use the DigiD app, you can activate it with the ID check.
How do I carry out an ID check?
How to carry out an ID check depends on your situation. Select the situation that applies to you to find out what you have to do.
If you already use the DigiD app you can add the ID check in the app.
If you don’t yet use the DigiD app, you can activate it with an ID check. When you do that you also immediately add the ID check to the app.
After you’ve completed the ID check
After you’ve completed the ID check, you’ll see a green check mark next to ‘ID check’ in the DigiD app’s main menu.
Privacy
None of your personal details are saved when the ID check is carried out. DigiD will only register in your DigiD account that the check has been completed successfully.
