How can I track the status of my visa application for the Netherlands?

You can track the status of your visa application for the Netherlands online. How you do this depends on where you submitted your application. For example, at VFS Global, a Dutch embassy or consulate-general, or TLScontact.

If you applied at VFS Global

If you submitted your visa application at a VFS Global centre, you can track the status of your application online. You will need the reference number you received when you submitted the application.

  1. Go to the VFS Global website.
  2. Select the country you applied from.
  3. Fill in your name and the reference number you received when you submitted your visa application. You can find this reference number on the invoice/receipt you were given by the visa application centre. The number always starts with the first two letters of the city where you submitted the application, followed by 'NL’ and the date. For an application made in New Delhi, for example, the reference number would look something like this: DENL/180423/0034/01.
  4. Click ‘Submit’ to view the status of your application.

If you applied at a Dutch embassy or consulate-general

If you submitted your visa application at a Dutch embassy or consulate-general and were given a tracking number, you can use it to track the status of your application online.

If you did not receive a tracking number, you cannot track the status of your application online. Find out how long it will take to get a visa for the Netherlands.

  1. Go to the track & trace system.
  2. Select the country where you submitted your application and your language.
  3. Click ‘Submit’.
  4. Fill in the tracking number you received when you submitted your visa application. You can find this number on the back of the card you were given when you submitted your application. The number always begins with 3 letters. The card will also have a link to the track & trace system: nederlandwereldwijd.nl/track or netherlandsworldwide.nl/track.
  5. Click ‘Submit’ to view the status of your application.

If you applied at TLScontact

If you submitted your visa application via TLScontact, you can track the status of your application online. You will need to log in to your TLScontact account to do this.

  1. Go to the TLScontact website.
  2. Select the visa application centre where you submitted your application.
  3. Log in by using your email address and password to view the status of your application.
