Language selection:English

If you are a Dutch national and want to apply for a Dutch passport or ID card, you will need specific documents for your application, including an application form. You fill in the form online. To do this, you can create an account or log in to an existing account.

Help with creating an account

You will need to create an account in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs online portal. You will need an email address to do this. Use a computer or tablet. The form does not work on a smartphone.

Follow the steps below to create an account.

  1. Go to the online portal.
  2. Click ‘Create your account’.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Click ‘Send code’.
  5. Copy the code you have received by email.
Please note: the activation code is valid for 10 minutes. If you do not create an account within that time, request a new code.

  7. Click ‘Continue’.
Please note: do not click ‘Change your email address’.

  1. Create a password. Ensure it meets the requirements listed. Click ‘Show password’ to see what you’ve typed.
  2. Re-enter the password.
