Crisis Contact Form
Using the Crisis Contact Form, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has identified how many Dutch travellers are stranded in the crisis area in the Middle East. The form is now closed. On this page, you will find frequently asked questions about the form and the repatriations that have been carried out.
Consular assistance
The Crisis Contact Form is closed. You can no longer register. Are you stranded in the crisis area in the Middle East? At the moment there are several ways to leave the region independently.
Are you in an emergency and do you need help from the Dutch government? Dutch embassies and consulates-general are available 24 hours a day, days a week through the NetherlandsWorldwide contact centre: + 31 247 247 247 or via WhatsApp: +31 857 737 400.
Register for the Information Service if you have not already done so already (information in Dutch). You will then receive updates if the travel advice changes.
Costs and payment
Organising repatriation is complex and expensive. Last year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs decided to ask for a financial contribution for repatriation flights. This applies to flights organised entirely by the Dutch government and to flights organised together with travel organisations, airlines and insurers. You pay part of the costs incurred by the government. The Stichting Calamiteitenfonds Reizen will send you a payment request and collect the amount.
You will receive a payment request from the Calamiteitenfonds within a few weeks after the repatriation. Have you not received a request yet? Please check your spam folder. If it is not there either, contact the Calamiteitenfonds via repatriering@Calamiteitenfonds.nl.
Other EU countries organise repatriations in their own way. Sometimes you do not have to pay anything, and sometimes you must pay an amount at the airport. The Dutch government has chosen to ask you to sign a document confirming that you will pay € 600 per person afterwards.
Safety and fraud
The crisis in the Middle East also poses an increased risk of phishing.
