Renewing your driving licence in Poland?

If you live in Poland and your Dutch driving licence has expired, you cannot renew it. You must exchange your Dutch licence for a Polish licence.

Exchanging your driving licence

You can exchange your Dutch driving licence for a Polish licence at the municipality where you are living. You will not need to retake your driving test.

If you want to apply for a Polish driving licence, you will need a certificate of authenticity (information in Dutch). This certificate is issued by the Road Transport Agency (RDW). It shows whether your driving licence is listed in the Central Driving Licences Register. The certificate is in English.

Please note: in Poland you will need to have the certificate translated into Polish by a sworn translator. You do not need to have the certificate and the translation legalised.
