Important to know

  • Arrive at your appointment well prepared. Find out how to apply for an airport transit visa in Morocco.
  • In most cases you must submit your application in person. This applies to babies and children too.
  • If you have had your fingerprints taken for a Schengen visa in the past 5 years (59 months), someone else may submit your application for you. However, if your fingerprints were taken but not saved, you will need to appear in person to have them retaken.
  • The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs may request an interview or additional documents.
  • You must sign a document at the appointment, declaring the following:
    • you understand that you must submit all documents in order for your application to be processed
    • you are aware that an incomplete application may be rejected and that your visa application fee will not be refunded

Personal documents

Bring: original document

You will need a completed and signed visa application form. Print the form and submit it with your other documents.

Complete the application form

Bring: original document

You will need a valid travel document, such as a passport. Your travel document must meet the following requirements:

  • it is no more than 10 years old
  • it must have at least 2 empty visa pages
  • it must be valid for at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area
  • it must bear your signature

You will need to submit a photo that meets Dutch requirements:

  • colour photo
  • no more than 6 months old
  • 3.5cm by 4.5cm
  • white or light-coloured background

If you are applying for a visa through an external service provider, you do not need to submit a photo. A digital photo will be taken at your appointment.

Bring: original document and colour copy

You will need valid proof of legal residence in the country where you are applying for a visa. You can show that you are legally resident in the country where you submit your visa application using, for instance:

  • a passport or other travel document
  • a Moroccan residence card or proof you have applied for the card
  • if you have them, documents proving your civil status such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate or a family record book

If you are not a resident of the country where you are submitting your application, you must show why you cannot apply in your country of residence.

You must be able to prove that you have social or economic ties to the country where you live. Which documents you need depends on your situation:

I am a businessperson or trader

If you are a businessperson or trader, bring the following documents:

Bring: original document and colour copy

  • the Moroccan company’s company registration document (articles of association)
  • the Moroccan company’s income tax statement (Impôt Général sur le Revenu) for this year
  • the most recent statement of any other taxes paid by the Moroccan company
  • the Moroccan company's bank statements from the last three months 
  • bank statements from your personal account from the last three months

Bring: colour copy of the document

  • your ‘Bulletin No 7’ (also called the trade register) from the Commercial Court or the Court of First Instance
  • any other documents that prove your money or property, if you have them, for example proof that you own a company, a house, a farm or land

I am an employee

If you are an employee, bring the following documents:

  • your last three payslips
  • your bank statements from the past three months
  • your certificate of employment. If you are a foreign worker, bring a colour copy of your work contract stamped by the Ministry of Employment.

Bring: colour copy of the document

  • your wage declaration certificate for the CNSS (National Social Security Fund or Caisse National de Sécurité Sociale)
  • any other documents that prove your money or property, if you have them, for example proof that you own a company, a house, a farm or land

I am retired

If you are retired, bring the following documents:

  • a colour copy of proof of pension
  • the original document and a colour copy of your bank statements from the past three months
  • colour copies of any other documents that prove your money or property, if you have them, for example proof that you own a company, a house, a farm or land

I am a civil servant

If you are a civil servant, bring the following documents:

  • your last three payslips
  • your bank statements from the past three months

Bring: colour copy of the document

  • your certificate of employment
  • your CNOPS card (National Fund of Social Welfare Organisations or Caisse Nationale des Organismes de Prévoyance Sociale)
  • any other documents that prove your money or property, if you have them, for example proof that you own a company, a house, a farm or land

I am a farmer

If you are a farmer, bring the following documents:

  • your bank statements from the last three months

Bring: colour copy of the document

  • proof of farmer status, such as a certificate issued by the Chamber of Agriculture
  • a certificate showing ownership of agricultural property
  • any other documents that prove your money or property, if you have them, for example proof that you own a company, a house, a farm or land

I am a doctor, surgeon, dentist, pharmacist, lawyer or architect

If you are a doctor, surgeon, dentist, pharmacist, lawyer or architect, bring the following documents:

  • the original document and colour copy of your bank statements from the last three months
  • a colour copy of your professional ID card, or a certificate from your professional organization, and/or a certificate of registration for personal tax
  • colour copies of any other documents that prove your money or property, if you have them, for example proof that you own a company, a house, a farm or land

I practice a specific profession or occupation

If you practice a specific profession or occupation, what you need to bring depends on your situation:

Bring: original document and colour copy

  • if you are a member of the Royal Court, Government, Parliament, Superior Council of the Judiciary, Constitutional Court, Court of Accounts, Economic, Social and Environmental Council, National Council of Human Rights, bring your note verbale, certificate of tenure or another official document that proves your position
  • if you are a senior official of the Moroccan government, bring your certificate of tenure issued by the relevant authority
  • if you are a university record or dean, bring your certificate of tenure from your university
  • if you are a spouse or dependent child of one of the people listed above, bring a document that proves your family relationship

Bring: colour copy of the document

  • if you have a scholarship under the European Erasmus+ programme or another EU mobility programme, bring a letter of acceptance from the host institution in the Netherlands

I am unemployed

If you are unemployed, bring the following documents:

  • the original document and a colour copy of a signed and certified statement that shows who will pay your expenses, along with proof of that person’s job or social status, based on the categories listed above
  • the original document and a colour copy of your bank statements from the last 3 months
  • colour copies of any other documents that prove your money or property, if you have them, for example proof that you own a company, a house, a farm or land

I am a student

If you are a student, bring the following documents:

  • a colour copy of your school attendance certificate or student card for this year
  • the original document and a colour copy of your birth certificate and your parents’ family record book
  • the original document and a colour copy of a signed and certified statement showing who will pay your expenses, along with proof of that person’s job or social status, based on the categories listed above

Documents relating to your travel and stay

Bring: colour copy of the document

You will need a reservation in your name for your travel to and from the Schengen area, such as a plane, bus or ferry ticket, or another document showing your travel plans. You do not need a paid travel ticket.

Bring: original document and colour copy

You will need valid proof of legal stay in the country of your final destination. Your final destination means the country you are travelling on to after transiting through the Schengen area. You can show this using, for instance:

  • a passport or other travel document
  • a residence permit 
  • a visa

You also need proof of the reservation of the plane ticket or train ticket to your final destination.

Documents relating to minors

If you are applying for a visa for a child under 18 who will be travelling without 1 or both of their parents or guardians, you will need the following documents:

  • a certified true copy of the child’s birth certificate
  • the parents’ family record book
  • a signed and certified statement from the parents or legal guardians stating they will cover the costs, along with proof of their job or social status based on their situation under ‘Proof of social or economic ties to the country where you live’, and/or other proof of income or property (such as ownership of a company, house, farm or land)
  • if the child is travelling with only one parent or guardian, bring a signed letter by the parent or guardian not travelling with the child
  • if the child is travelling alone without parents or guardians, bring a signed letter by both parents or guardians

Bring: colour copy of the document

  • the passport or ID card of each parent or legal guardian
  • if 1 of the parents or guardians has a valid Schengen visa: a colour photocopy of the biographical data page of their passport and of their valid Schengen visa. The biographical data page contains the passport holder’s details and photo
  • if 1 of the parents or guardians has died: a photocopy of the death certificate of the deceased parent or guardian
  • if a guardian has been appointed: a photocopy of official proof of guardianship
  • if there is a court order in place: a photocopy of permission from the court for the minor to travel
