Frequently asked questions: temporarily closure consulate-general Lagos
The Dutch consulate-general in Lagos, Nigeria, will be closed to the public due to renovations. Reopening will take place on 8 June 2026. Read the frequently asked questions to find out what this means for you.
Contact and appointment
Dutch embassies and consulates-general can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the Netherlands Worldwide contact centre by phone on +31 247 247 247 or WhatsApp on +31 857 737 400.
If you have an appointment at the consulate-general between 25 May and 8 June 2026 your appointment will be rescheduled. You do not need to take any action. The consulate-general will contact you by email to arrange a new appointment.
Emergency travel document and passport
You can apply for an emergency travel document at the consulate-general.

The consulate-general is closed to the public from 25 May to 7 June 2026 (inclusive). You can make an appointment for after 7 June 2026 by emailing the consulate-general on lag-ca@minbuza.nl. The consulate-general will let you know when the next appointment is available. You can also apply for a Dutch passport or ID card in Benin or Ghana.
Visa and mvv
You can apply for a Schengen visa or airport transit visa at a different location in Nigeria.
