Applying for a parking permit

Do you live in an area where you have to pay to park your car or other vehicle? You can apply to the municipality for a residents’ parking permit (parkeervergunning voor bewoners). If you have a residents' parking permit, you do not have to pay for parking at the parking meter or via a parking app.

Parking permit for residents

Do you live in an area where you have to pay to park? Then you can apply for a resident permit. This resident's parking permit is linked to the registration number of your car, motorcycle or microcar.

Zone A, B and C

The paid parking area in Leiden is divided into zones.

  • Zone A: center
  • Zone B: neighborhoods around the center (the shell neighborhoods)
  • Zone C: neighborhoods Hoge Mors, Boshuizen, Fortuinwijk, Vlietpoort and Vlietzone, Oostvliet, Klein Cronestein and Meerburg
