Applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs in the Netherlands

Do you have a lower income and do you receive childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag)? Then you can apply for an extra allowance for your own contribution to the costs of childcare. You can apply for this at your municipality.

Municipality of Gouda: Applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs

In Gouda you don't get money, but your toddler can go to a childcare centre a half-day twice a week for free. This is part of the kindpakket (child package). 

Please note: you can apply for this only if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

You must meet the following conditions:

  • You receive childcare allowance from the Belastingdienst (Tax and Customs Administration).
  • You, your partner and your child are registered with the municipality of Gouda.
  • Your income is less than 120% of the social assistance benefit.
  • The free childcare is for children aged 2 years and 3 months up to 4 years.

Good to know:

If you get free childcare, the municipality of Gouda will transfer the amount directly to the chilcare centre.
