Income tax return if you live outside the Netherlands and have no income from the Netherlands

If you live outside the Netherlands and have no income from or assets in the Netherlands, in most cases you will not need to file an income tax return in the Netherlands, but you may have to in your country of residence.

If you are not sure whether you have income from the Netherlands or whether you have to pay tax on it in the Netherlands, learn what income is taxed in the Netherlands.

Attention:

You can file a tax return up to five years after the tax year in question. If you receive income from the Netherlands in one of those five years, you may have to pay tax on it in the Netherlands.
