Official message from H.E. Margriet Vonno, addressing the COVID-19 situation
The worldwide impact of the Corona Virus has been exceptional. It is affecting our well-being, social life and economic activities in a substantial way. Many countries have taken extraordinary measures. Some borders are closed, some countries face so-called 'lock-downs', and in most countries social distancing - for example through working from home - is the new norm. These are challenging times for all of us.
Singapore has reacted adequately and effectively from the outset. The international spreading of the virus has also required Singapore to take more drastic measures. These new measures affect many of us, especially (frequent) travellers. Current and new measures could impact your decision to travel to the Netherlands. Precautionary measures Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore
The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore has also taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff. We have adjusted our consular services and consular opening hours to minimize physical contact. Please turn to www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl (for Dutch nationals abroad) and www.netherlandsandyou.nl (for non-Dutch nationals who would like to go to the Netherlands) for the most up-to-date information and Q&As.
King's Day 2020
Finally, it is with deep regret that I have to inform you that we have cancelled all the festivities for King's Day 2020, incuding the National Day reception. The safety and health of our guests and staff members are our highest priority at all times, which makes this decision inevitable. We are living in unprecedented times. Let us all contribute to continue to keep Singapore as safe as possible.
The coming months will be challenging, both in our personal lives as well as in our professional lives. Keep helping each other, together we will get through this difficult period.
