Applying for a passport or ID card in Geneva

The consular team from the Dutch embassy in Bern will be visiting Geneva on 19 December 2019, where you will be able to apply for a Dutch passport, ID card or activate your DigiD.

Making an appointment

To make an appointment please send an email to the embassy in Bern via State in your email that you would like to make an appointment for the application session in Geneva. You should also state how many people you would like to make an appointment for. You will receive an email stating the time of your appointment.

Required documents

Go to the web page ‘Applying for a passport or ID card' to create a personal checklist for each applicant. The checklist will tell you which documents you need to send by post to the embassy in Bern before the 29th of November.


You pay in advance. The email confirmation of your appointment will state the amount due and provide payment details. Payment needs to be received before the 5th of December 2019. See the overview of consular tariffs in Switzerland for information on the cost of a passport or ID card.
