Passport and ID card applications possible at VFS Global in Perth
As of 6 November 2019, Dutch nationals in Australia who want to renew or apply for a Dutch passport or identity card (ID card) can do so at the VFS Global office in Perth.
A pilot in the United Kingdom, where Dutch citizens were able to apply for a Dutch passport and/or ID card through an external service provider in London and Edinburgh, proved successful. Therefore, this service will be extended to other locations. The choice of these locations considers various aspects, such as distance. For Australia, that location is Perth.
In Australia, Dutch citizens can apply for passports and ID cards at the Dutch Consulate General in Sydney or via Pop Up embassies. From November 6 onwards it will be possible to apply for a passport at the VFS Global office in Perth.
VFS Global is an external service provider. VFS Global will send your application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands, where it will be processed.
