Ambassador Marion Derckx will pay a visit to the state of Queensland from 13-17 May. The visit will focus on the Netherlands’ bilateral ties with Queensland, trade relations and the Dutch community. The ambassador’s visit is part of the inaugural Dutch ‘Pop-Up Embassy’ in Australia, consisting of various meetings and activities, organised by the Embassy in Canberra and the Consulate-General in Sydney.

Bilateral political consultations will take place during this visit on different levels. In Brisbane, Ambassador Derckx will meet with several government officials.

To make passport applications easier and accessible, the Sydney consular department opens its pop-up consular desk in Brisbane on 14th May, providing Dutch passport applicants the opportunity to apply for a Dutch travel document. Requests for an appointment were open till the 1st of May, and all appointments are fully booked. The pop-up consular desk is travelling throughout the country (and will return to Brisbane later this year).
