The Netherlands will establish a Pop-Up Embassy in Iceland from April 27th until May 2nd
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is represented in Iceland through its Embassy in Oslo and a Honorary Consul-General based in Reykjavik. The Netherlands will establish a so called ‘pop-up Embassy’ in Reykjavik from April 27th until May 3rd 2019 to emphasize the good relations with Iceland and show the many sides of the Iceland-Netherlands relationship.
During the Pop-up Embassy, the Netherlands will organize various activities showing the diversity of relations which exists between the Netherlands and Iceland.
Bilateral consultations will take place with policy makers on a number of topics such as foreign and security policy, European relations, gender equality and human rights. A seminar focusing on sustainable innovation and circular economy will be organized together with the municipality of Reykjavik.
The Dutch football association KNVB will organize a clinic and coaching seminar with the Icelandic football association KSI as part of their "KNVB World Coaches" program with football legend Johan Neeskens.
The Embassy will organize two music events which are open to the public: Shapes of Time, a spheric jazz performance by Mark Haanstra and Oene van Geel in collaboration with visual artist Udo Prinsen on Monday 29 March at 19.30h and a concert of Dutch students from the Royal Conservatorium inspired by Icelandic mythology supported by the Iceland University of Arts on 2 May 19.30h. Both concerts take place at Idnó Culture House, Vonarstraeti 3 in Reykjavik.
The Pop-Up Embassy opens its office for consular services to Dutch citizens providing them the opportunity to apply for a Dutch travel document in Reykjavik.
For Icelandic companies that are interested in doing business with the Netherlands, the possibility will be given to talk to the trade department.
