Henk Brouwer portraits from Changi
Recently, the Bronbeek Museum in the Netherlands, dedicated to the (military) history of the Dutch East Indies, opened an exhibition about Changi, a prisoner-of-war camp in Singapore. The exhibition focuses on the personal stories of the POW’s. Special attention is given to the portraits that Dutchman Henk Brouwer made of his fellow-inmates in Changi, mostly from Australia. Now, an international search is launched to recover these portraits, that were spread around the world when the POW’s took them home after the war.
