Smarter cities for a smarter future

At the seminar “Developing Smart Cities in Vietnam towards Green and Sustainable Growth” held by the Ministry of Construction and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Hanoi on 29 March 2018, a letter of intent between the Urban Development Agency (UDA) and Smart Cities Consortium the Netherlands (SCNL) was signed, laying the foundation for future cooperation between the Netherlands and Vietnam on Smart Cities development. One has every reason to be positive about the prospect of smarter cities in Vietnam.

Last year, during the visit of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the Netherlands, the model and strategy for developing Smart City were presented to the Prime Minister. Following up the visit, Urban Development Agency (UDA), on behalf of Ministry of Construction, has been assigned to work with Smart Cities Consortium the Netherlands (SCNL). The two parties will cooperate to support the urban development and foster the cooperation of both Parties  on the exchange of information, know-how, and expertise, particularly in fields: Urban Development, Smart Cities, Airport Cities, living environment on the basis of mutual respect,  equality and mutual benefit.
