Prime Minister Rutte to visit Slovenia and Bulgaria
The Prime Minister Rutte, together with Luxembourg's Prime Minister Bettel and the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Reynders, will be visiting Slovenia on Tuesday 6 February, where they will meet with Prime Minister Cerar.
Benelux and Slovenia are united on many important EU dossiers, such as migration, the internal market agenda and Brexit. The discussions will provide for the exchange of mutual positions in preparation of the informal European Council in February and the European Council in March.
By the end of the afternoon, the Prime Minister Rutte will travel to Bulgaria for a bilateral working dinner with the Prime Minister Borissov. Bulgaria is holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the first half year of 2018, and thus plays an important role in Europe. The meeting with Prime Minister Borissov provides a good opportunity to take a closer look at Bulgaria’s priorities during the Presidency, also in the light of the informal European Council of 23 February.
