Here is some information from your municipality.

Childcare and Toddler care / Preschool offer

For young children it is important to go to a daycare or preschool. Not only does a child learn to play with peers, it also contributes to a good start at primary school. There are various forms of childcare in the municipality of Moerdijk.

For an overview of day care centers, out-of-school care, childminder agencies and childminders, please visit www.nationaalregisterkinderopvang.nl . If you and your partner have a paid job, you can apply for a supplement from the Tax and Customs Administration. The municipality is responsible for supervising the quality of the care provided in registered childcare centers and childminder agencies. The GGD West-Brabant therefore regularly carries out inspections. The national government supervises compliance with the quality requirements.

Early childhood education (VVE)

The government considers it important that your toddler has the opportunity to develop through play and is well prepared for primary school. That is why the municipality has a pre-school and early childhood education scheme – VVE (language development). This scheme provides a partial contribution towards the costs of toddler care for your toddler. The consultation bureau (TWB) checks whether there is a (risk of) arrears and gives a referral to go to a VVE-certified childcare. As parents, you can choose which childcare your child goes to. In the National Childcare Register (LRK) you can find out whether a childcare location has a VVE certification. A VVE Childcare location has specially trained teachers and offers toddlers with an indication extra support. With an VVE indication from the consultation office, your toddler will attend the toddler care for at least 2 half-days of 4 hours per week. From September 1, your toddler can play a 3rd and 4th half-day for free for extra language and developmental stimulation, you only pay for the 1st and 2nd half-day.

Childcare allowance for toddlers (KOT)

It is a contribution to the development of toddlers to go to childcare. The municipality of Moerdijk therefore wants to encourage the use of toddler care. Even if you are not eligible for an allowance via the Tax and Customs Administration, for example because you do not have a paid job, it is possible to apply for an allowance from the municipality of Moerdijk. The allowance is intended for children aged 2 to 4 who go to the toddler care at an organization that is included in the national register of toddler care. You can receive an allowance from the municipality for a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 hours of toddler care per week.
