Applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs in the Netherlands

Do you have a lower income and do you receive childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag)? Then you can apply for an extra allowance for your own contribution to the costs of childcare. You can apply for this at your municipality.

Applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs in the Netherlands

Please note: you can apply for the compensation for personal contribution to kinderopvangtoeslag (childcare allowance) only if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

You must meet the following conditions:

  • You receive childcare allowance from the Belastingdienst (Tax and Customs Administration).
  • You, your partner and your child are registered with the municipality.

The ISD Bollenstreek is a collaborative partnership of the municipalities Hillegom, Lisse, Noordwijk, and Teylingen. The ISD handles tasks related to social security and the Wmo (Social Support Act) for residents. You can contact ISD Bollenstreek for matters such as:

  • Wmo (Social Support Act) 
  • Special assistance Debts Transport facilities (e.g., Regiotaxi) 
  • Household assistance 
  • Disabled parking card 
  • Wheelchair facilities 
  • Processing of specialized youth care 
  • PGBs (Personal Budgets). 
  • And other similar matters.
