Applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs in the Netherlands
Do you have a lower income and do you receive childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag)? Then you can apply for an extra allowance for your own contribution to the costs of childcare. You can apply for this at your municipality.
To be eligible for the extra allowance the following conditions apply:
- you must already be receiving childcare benefit from the Dienst Toeslagen;
- your (joint) income must not exceed the limit. Your municipality sets the maximum amount.
This is how it works for you
Here is some information from your municipality.
Request additional contribution for childcare
If your child goes to childcare, you can receive childcare allowance. You can arrange this via the Tax and Customs Administration. You can also receive an additional contribution from the municipality. For example, because you are following a reintegration program or training.
Are you not following a reintegration program or training? Then you are not eligible for childcare allowance. Sometimes it is necessary for your child to go to childcare. For example, because you or your partner has physical, mental or social problems. You can ask the municipality for a reimbursement for childcare costs. You need a socio-medical indication (smi) for this.
You must meet the following conditions:
- You receive childcare allowance from the Belastingdienst (Tax and Customs Administration).
- You, your partner and your child are registered with the municipality of Elburg.
How to apply for a supplementary contribution for childcare:
You can request the supplementary contribution from the municipality. Contact the Social Financial Meeting Point for this.
