Applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs in the Netherlands

Do you have a lower income and do you receive childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag)? Then you can apply for an extra allowance for your own contribution to the costs of childcare. You can apply for this at your municipality.

Childcare

Please note. You can only apply for the childcare allowance if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

Are you not eligible for childcare subsidies or does your child need extra support with language development? Then you can use subsidized services. The municipality pays the subsidy to the childcare provider. Parents pay their own income-related contribution to childcare.

The municipality of Bernheze will send you a letter within 8 weeks informing you whether you are entitled to the compensation for the personal contribution to childcare allowance. That letter will also state how long you will receive the contribution.
