Applying for a business passport in the Netherlands

Do you hold Dutch citizenship? Do you travel a lot outside the Netherlands on business and get a lot of visas in your passport? If so, you can apply for a zakenpaspoort (business passport). Business passports have more pages and more space for visas.

You apply for a business passport at the municipality where you live. Do you hold Dutch citizenship but have no fixed address in the Netherlands? If so, you can apply for a business passport at a grensgemeente (border municipality). You can do this when visiting the Netherlands.

Passport

Please note: you can only apply for a Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport) if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

You must apply for a Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport) in person at the municipality where you live. Make an appointment with the municipality of Bernheze to apply for a Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport).

  • A Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport) costs: € 75.82
  • An urgent request (spoedaanvraag in Dutch) costs: € 127.44

Business passport collection

  • After 5 working days, you can collect your Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport) from the municipality of Bernheze.
  • You must make an appointment to collect your Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport) 
  • You collect your Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport)  in person from the municipality of Bernheze. 
  • Do you still have an old travel document? Then you must hand it in when you collect your new Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport).
  • You must collect the Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport)  within 3 months. After that, the document will be destroyed. Do you still want a passport after this period? Then you have to make a new application and pay again.

You can collect the Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport) from the municipality after around a week. You have 3 months in which to collect your new passport.

Validity

A Dutch zakenpaspoort (business passport)  is valid for 10 years.
