Applying for an EU parking card for people with disabilities

Do you have a disability? Would you like access to parking spaces that make parking easier and are close to shops or your office? Then you can apply for a European Union (EU) parking card for people with disabilities. You can apply if you have had a disability for at least 6 months and with the help of crutches or a walking frame cannot walk more than 100 metres on your own.

This is how it works in your (future) place of residence

Your (future) place of residence falls under the Municipality of Culemborg.

Parking card for people with disabilities

There are three types of cards:

  • Driver card: If you are physically limited but can drive a car independently.
  • Passenger card: If you are physically limited and cannot drive a car independently. You depend on a driver.
  • Institution card: If you are staying in a healthcare institution. The institution can receive an institution card.

You can also apply for a combination of a driver card and a passenger card. For example, if you are permanently wheelchair bound.

  • The parking card is in the name of a person.
  • The parking ticket is not registered.
  • You can use the card for any car.
  • The parking card is valid for a maximum of 5 years.

Are you applying for a disabled parking card? Then a medical authority will examine your physical disability. The municipality determines which authority.
