Regional Business Developers

The Dutch embassy network helps businesses fulfil their ambitions abroad. Regional Business Developers work from embassies in 5 regions to help Dutch companies take advantage of opportunities in trade, investment, and research and development (R&D).

Opportunities for trade and investment

Through its Regional Business Developers (RBDs) the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants to boost the market presence of Dutch companies in Latin America, West Africa, the Gulf States, ASEAN countries, as well as Scandinavia and the Baltic states. These regions offer major opportunities for expanding Dutch trade and investment.

Who do RDBs support?

Regional Business Developers help SMEs and large companies, as well as universities and research institutes, to fulfil their international ambitions in trade, investment or cooperation in international projects.

What do Regional Business Developers do?

Regional Business Developers have up-to-date information about opportunities for trade, investment and R&D in the region. Thanks to their extensive network in the Netherlands, they can offer the right opportunities to the right companies. They are also an integral part of the embassy’s network in the region.

Regional Business Developers:

  • actively seek business leads in the 5 regions
  • match their business leads in the 5 regions with interested Dutch companies and knowledge institutions
  • map opportunities for funding
  • organise support for your business network abroad when following up business leads
