Orange ASEAN: your partner in sustainability

Growing societal and environmental issues in Southeast Asia need innovative entrepreneurial solutions. To address this need, Orange ASEAN was initiated by the Dutch government in collaboration with the private sector and non-governmental partners. Orange ASEAN connects Dutch and ASEAN entrepreneurship to accelerate sustainable innovations through two initiatives: Orange Factory and Orange Nest.

Orange Nest: your springboard to ASEAN

Orange Nest is a business incubator for Dutch social entrepreneurs focusing on innovation and sustainability who want to start-up their business in Southeast Asia. It offers workstations and office facilities at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok as well as provides excellent opportunities to connect to the expert knowledge, vast networks and business support services of all Dutch diplomatic missions throughout the region.
Are you an entrepreneur, designer or innovator? Do you have a commercial approach to solving social and environmental issues? Do you see your product or service as having potential in the ASEAN markets?

Promoting sustainable business: Orange Factory

Orange Factory is an intensive three-week workshop for young professionals and talented students from the Netherlands and Southeast Asia, designing innovative solutions for sustainability challenges in the region. Supported by academics and experts 20-30 participants work together in dedicated teams developing business cases for real-life issues. Annually, several Factories are organized at various locations in the region.

The programme: creating value in just three weeks

Orange Factory functions as a funnel; moving from societal issue to sustainable business solution. Guided by professional sustainability consultants, specialists and designers, teams of participants will work on challenges to identify and prepare the groundwork for innovative solutions. Participants will learn how to use entrepreneurial skills and design thinking to solve societal issues, while delivering direct business value to the clients.
