What personal data is recorded in the Non-residents Records Database?
You can check what personal data of yours is recorded in the Non-residents Records Database (RNI) on MijnOverheid.nl or at any of the 19 RNI municipalities in the Netherlands.
Data in the RNI
If you move abroad, your data is usually saved in the RNI. The RNI contains the following data about you:
- name
- date of birth
- place of birth
- sex
- nationality
- marital status
- address outside the Netherlands
- details about your residence permit
- citizen service number (BSN)
Viewing your data online on MijnOverheid.nl
On MijnOverheid.nl you can check what personal data of yours is recorded in the RNI. Log in to the website using your DigiD. Once you have logged in click ‘Identiteit’. You can then click through to your personal data.
If you do not have a DigiD, you can apply for one.
Checking your personal data via an RNI municipality
If you are not able to view your data online, contact one of the 19 RNI municipalities to find out whether you are registered in the RNI and how.
Incorrect data
If you deregistered from a Dutch municipality before 1 October 1994, you may not be registered in the RNI.
If you are not registered in the RNI or if any of your personal data is incorrect, as a non-resident you can make a change through an RNI municipality.
