Cultural Affairs of the Netherlands Embassy in Korea
Cultural Affairs of the Netherlands Embassy in Korea is responsible for implementing the International Cultural Policy of the Netherlands in Korea.
South Korea is one of the priority countries in the Netherlands’ International Cultural Policy for the period 2017-2020, with the objective ‘a strong cultural sector, where international exchange and sustainable cooperation ensure increasingly higher quality, and which is recognised and valued abroad.’
Dutch culture in Korea
Our objective is to enhance the awareness and profile of Dutch arts and culture and creative industries in Korea as well as to promote cultural exchange between the two countries. In addition, we help to build network and long-lasting relationships between the Dutch and Korean cultural sectors to eventually increase the visibility of Dutch culture in Korea, opportunities for artistic collaborations and even for economic success (see also subsidy scheme).
We cover all cultural disciplines but mainly focus on Visual arts, Performing arts, and Creative Industries. You can find information in details in the Multi-annual Strategy Plan for Culture 2017 – 2020 of the Netherlands Embassy in Korea.
